Posaconazole is a fluorinated triazole antifungal agent indicated for prophylaxis against Aspergillus and Candida infections in high risk immunocompromised patients. It is proven to be effective in the prevention of invasive fungal infections in patients undergoing allogenic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT), and in patients with graft versus host disease (GVHD) or prolonged neutropenia.
